(a) In the event a departmental supervisor is absent from work for a period of one consecutive work days or more, the Director of Public Safety and Service may, but shall not be required to, designate an employee from within that department to serve as an Acting Supervisor in the departmental supervisor’s absence.
(b) If the Acting Supervisor shall serve in that capacity for a period of one consecutive work days or more, then he shall be eligible for additional compensation thereafter for services rendered as an Acting Supervisor at the rate of one dollar ($1.00) per regular hour and one dollar and fifty cents ($1.50) per overtime hours. The compensation to be paid hereunder shall be retroactive to the time when the employee in question first assumed the duties of an Acting Supervisor.
(c) The provisions of this Section shall not be applicable to City employees the terms and conditions of whose employment are governed by a collective bargaining agreement.
