Any person holding an office or position under the classified service of the Fire Department or Police Department, except probationary firemen or probationary policemen, is required to have a physical examination each and every calendar year.
Physical examinations for the Fire Department shall be scheduled by the Chief of the Fire Department, and physical examinations for the Police Department shall be scheduled by the Chief of Police, and a copy of the report of any such physical examination shall be supplied to the Fire Chief or Chief of Police, respectively.
The City shall pay for any such physical examination, and the Director of Public Safety and Service is hereby authorized to enter into an annual contract, or contracts, with one or more physicians for the giving of any such examination.
