(a) No person shall erect any new buildings or other structure in the City or cause any such building or structure to be erected and to place thereon any roof which shall be made of wood shingles unless such wood shingles are Underwriters' Laboratories approved.
(b) No person shall repair, replace or cause to be repaired or replaced a roof upon any building now existing in the City by the use of wood shingles thereon unless UL approved.
(c) The use of non-UL approved wood shingles for roofing purposes upon any building or structure in the City is hereby prohibited and any person so using or causing to be used wood shingles unless UL approved for roofing purposes shall be fined as provided in Section 1313.99.
