141.07 UNIFORM PURCHASE ALLOWANCE.
   (a)    Effective January 1, 1966, there is hereby established and created a uniform purchase allowance to aid in the purchase of uniform items and to replace worn uniform items of wear for personnel of the Fire Department.

   (b)    Each new firefighter shall be provided a complete set of required uniform and clothing items upon beginning employment. A standardized list of the uniform and clothing to be provided shall be developed and maintained by the Fire Chief and approved by the Director of Public Safety and Service.
   After one year of service each eligible officer in the Fire Department shall receive an allowance of three hundred dollars ($360.00) per year for replacement of uniform items. All such purchases of uniform items shall be upon requisition signed by the officer making the same and approved by the Chief and the Director of Public Safety and Service. All payments for such purchases shall be made through the office of the City Auditor in the same manner as any other obligation of the City.

   (c)    There is hereby created and established a uniform allowance account item to be created as a part of the annual appropriation to the Fire Department.
   (d)    All uniformed officers of the Department shall, during duty hours, wear uniforms as prescribed by the Fire Chief.
   (e)    Such uniforms shall meet the regulations and specifications of the Department as determined by the Fire Chief and approved by the Director.
   (f)    Uniform items of wear shall include, but shall not be limited to: shirts; trousers; ties; socks, shoes; shoulder patches; and such other items of uniform wear as shall be determined by the Fire Chief and approved by the Director.
   (g)    All purchases of uniforms or uniform items of wear shall be upon requisition signed by the officer making the same, and approved by the Fire Chief and Director. All payments shall be made through the office of the Auditor in the same manner as any other obligation of the City.
