A source of fluoride ion, approved by the State Department of Health, shall be added to the water supply of the City under the rules and regulations of the State Board of Health, such addition to be administered by the City Water Department.
It is declared to be the policy of Council that there be included annually in the budget of the Waterworks Department an amount necessary to carry on and maintain the program of fluoridation of the City's water supply as contemplated herein.
The Director of Public Safety and Service be and he hereby is authorized and directed to employ a consultant to prepare necessary plans, specifications and estimates of cost of installing fluoridation equipment for use at the City Water Treatment Plant, which plans, specifications and estimates shall be submitted to the Ohio Department of Health for approval before being submitted to Council.
The Director of Public Safety and Service shall obtain from the State Department of Health its recommendations and regulations as to the treatment of the water supply of the City, with fluorides including the proper amount of fluoride bearing chemical to be added to the City water supply.
