(a) No vehicle shall be used in normal taxicab service in the City unless the same shall be a four-door passenger automobile, station wagon, sport utility vehicle, or van, with immovable hard top, and having a closed body with a single compartment for passengers and the operator. (b) Every person owning and operating a taxicab under a license from the City may adopt a trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering such taxicab that is approved by the Director of Public Safety and Service. Such trade name, design, color scheme or method of painting or lettering shall meet the following requirements:
(1) The name of the owner or the trade name under which he does business shall be painted on each side of each taxicab.
(2) Whenever the name of the owner or trade name under which he does business does not include any of the words "taxicab", "Taxi" or "cab", then the word "taxicab" shall be painted on each side of the taxicab immediately beneath such name or trade name.
(c) All mandatory lettering and working, whether in a particular trade name, design, color scheme, method of painting or lettering otherwise, as hereinbefore provided, shall be at least four inches in height and shall be of such color as, in the opinion of the Director, shall contrast distinctly with the color of the body of the taxicab.
