§ 77.40 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates a different meaning.
   CARRIAGE. Any device in, upon, or by which any person may be transported or drawn upon a public way, designed to be drawn upon a public way, designed to be drawn by a horse.
   COMPENSATION. Any fare, reward, tip, donation, or other thing of value which a driver or owner of a horse-drawn carriage accepts or receives or offers to accept or receive in return for furnishing such service.
   HORSE. An animal of the genus equis.
   LICENSEE. Any person to whom the village has issued a license pursuant to this subchapter.
   OWNER. The person who has good title thereto or lawful bill of sale or certificate of title and who in the conduct of business operates or rents such public carriage.
   PERSON. Includes person, firm, partnership, association, and corporation.
   VETERINARIAN. A practicing veterinarian licensed by the state.
