§ 55.08 WARNING LIGHTS AND BARRIER.
   (A)   Any person who shall dig or cause to be dug in or adjoining the sidewalk or mutilation whatsoever, and any person who shall occupy or cause to be occupied any portion of sidewalk with building materials or any obstruction shall provide sufficient red lights and barricades to adequately protect pedestrians and vehicular traffic.
   (B)   Any such person shall cause not less than two red lights to be secured and conspicuously placed in or near an excavation, building material, or other obstructions, one or more at each end of a space so excavated or occupied.
   (C)   If the space occupied by such obstruction or excavation shall exceed ten feet in extent, then such person shall cause additional lights to be posted for every additional ten feet in extent or portion thereof so excavated or occupied and shall keep such lights burning the entire night.
   (D)   The Mayor or any authorized village officer may, at his or her discretion, require additional lights in case of any excavated area. In case of excavations in or adjoining the sidewalk, and in case of other open or exposed places within the village, suitable warning barriers shall be set out to protect the public against accidents.
