§ 53.12 BAYS AND BALCONIES.
   (A)   The construction of walls and floors of bays and balconies shall conform to the required type of construction based on area and number of stories, and the construction of exterior walls based on exposure.
   (B)   All exterior balconies attached to or supported by masonry walls shall have brackets or beams constructed of steel, concrete, or other noncombustible material. All railings for balconies or porches shall be not less than three feet six inches in height above the floor of such balcony or porch. Balconies shall be designed to support in addition to their own weight a live load of not less than 100 pounds per square foot. Railings designed in accordance with § 709.4 of the State Basic Building Code, being O.A.C. 4101:1-7-709.4.
