§ 53.08 PROJECTIONS OF ORIELS, BALCONIES, BAYS, AND THE LIKE.
   Above the 12-foot height as defined in § 53.06, oriels, balconies, turrets, towers, pilasters, cornices, moldings, and similar appendages may be permitted to project from buildings or structures, subject to the following.
   (A)   In the case of appendages other than pilasters, cornices, and moldings, the projection shall begin not less than three feet from the nearest side lot line and no part shall extend beyond lines drawn from the intersections of the side lot lines with the street property line at angles of 22 and one-half degrees with the latter.
   (B)   No appendage shall, in any case, project more than three feet nor more than one-fourth the width of the street sidewalk.
   (C)   Where a building or structure contains two or more projecting appendages, they shall be separated by intervening spaces of not less than five feet.
   (D)   No projection, other than a cornice or molding, shall exceed 20 feet in length, measured along the street line.
