Whenever any firefighter or apprentice firefighter has knowledge that he or she is going to be unable to continue his or her connection with the Fire Department because of moving from the community, illness, or any other reason, he or she shall forward a written communication to the Mayor advising the Mayor of the fact. The regulation badge of the Department must be turned in with the resignation.
