(A) The effective date of this chapter is March 25, 1996. This Code shall supersede this chapter first established on April 23, 1942 and all amendments thereof, including February 27, 1967.
(B) Nothing contained in this chapter shall require any change in plans, construction, size, or designated use of a structure for which a valid permit has been issued or lawful approval given before the effective date of this chapter (March 25, 1996); however, construction under such permit or approval shall have been started within six months after the effective date of this chapter.
