(A) It shall be the duty of the owner of each and every parcel of real estate in the Village of Marblehead abutting upon any sidewalk to keep the sidewalk abutting his or her premises free and clear of snow and ice, and to remove therefrom all snow and ice accumulated thereon within a reasonable time, which will ordinarily not exceed 12 hours after the abatement of any storm during which snow and ice may have accumulated. It shall also be the duty of that owner to keep the sidewalk free from obstruction and accumulations of debris, rubbish or mud and to take no act to damage any such sidewalk.
(B) Any person who damages or fails to clean such sidewalks within 24 hours of written or personal notice from the appropriate Village official shall be punished as provided in § 91.99, and shall be liable for any damages to the sidewalk and for any expenses incurred by the Village to remove snow, ice, debris, rubbish, mud or any other obstruction from the sidewalk.
