The Village shall provide the necessary funds for any and all reasonable expenses incurred in the defense of any legal action brought or instituted against the Mayor, any member of Council or any Village official while said person or persons are acting within the scope of their authority and/or in the performance of their official duties and responsibilities. Such monies so provided shall include the payment of any judgment rendered in any such action.
