A. In all cases where a license from the City is required to be obtained to carry on or engage in any business, occupation or calling, and the amount to be paid for the license is fixed by this chapter, and the amount shall not have been paid at the time, or in the manner provided in this chapter, a civil action may be sought in any court of this State having jurisdiction of the action in the name of the City against the person failing to pay the license to recover the amount of the same. In any case where several or diverse amounts of license fee as fixed by this chapter shall remain due and unpaid by any such person, the several amounts of unpaid license fee may be joined as separate causes of action in the same complaint in the civil actions.
B. Nothing in this section shall be construed to prevent or in any manner interfere with the enforcement of the penalty provision contained in title 1 of this Code. (1986 Code)
