Of the seven (7) members first appointed two (2) shall serve for a period of one year, two (2) for a period of two (2) years, and three (3) for a period of three (3) years. Thereafter each member shall serve for a term of three (3) years. Vacancies shall be filled by appointments for unexpired terms only. All members of the commission shall serve without compensation except that, if the board of trustees deems it advisable, they may receive such compensation as may be fixed from time to time by the village and provided for in the appropriation ordinance. The ex officio members shall serve for the terms of the elective office. (1974 Code)
