The chief of the fire prevention bureau shall have the duty of investigating and suppressing any and all fire hazards within the village and to this end he shall be vested with full police powers.
He shall cause periodic investigations to be made within the village with respect to compliance with all laws of the village, county or state regarding fire prevention and control.
He shall have the authority to go anywhere within the village for purposes of making investigations of compliance with fire provisions of this code and to enter any structure within the village. (1956 Code, Sec. 10-3)
