The board of health shall consist of a health officer, who shall be a physician of good standing in his profession, and two (2) citizens of the village who shall be appointed by the president and board of trustees at the first regular meeting in May of each year, and they shall hold office for one year or until their successors are appointed and qualified. The president of the board shall be ex officio president of the board of health and the village clerk shall be ex officio its secretary. (1956 Code, Sec. 8-2)
