(A) The superintendent of public works is hereby vested with the authority to determine and designate the character and location of all traffic control signs and devices. All traffic control signs and devices shall be erected in conformity with the provisions of the state manual and specifications.
(B) The superintendent of public works shall act as the traffic engineer to determine the installation and proper timing and maintenance of traffic control devices, to conduct engineering analyses of traffic accidents and to devise remedial measures, to conduct engineering investigation of traffic conditions, to plan the operation of traffic on the streets and highways of this village, to erect signs in conformance therewith, and to cooperate with other village officials in the development of ways and means to improve traffic conditions.
(C) The village board has the authority by motion to determine and designate the character and location of a traffic control sign and device.
(D) Any traffic control sign and device erected in the village as of the date of passage hereof is hereby approved and such traffic control sign or device shall be presumed to be erected in conformity with the provisions of this section.
(E) It shall be unlawful for any person to disobey a traffic control sign or device. (Ord. 03-04, 7-7-2003)
