The penalty for the failure to abate a nuisance under this chapter shall be punishable by a fine of not less than fifty dollars ($50.00) or more than seven hundred fifty dollars ($750.00). Each day a nuisance is allowed to exist on the property subsequent to the time at which the nuisance was required to be abated shall constitute a separate offense. The hearing officer, in his/her discretion, shall impose a fine against the owner/occupant by taking into consideration the number of days the nuisance remained unabated or any prior findings of liability for the failure to abate a nuisance under this chapter.
