Nothing contained in this chapter shall be construed to impair the powers contained in other chapters of this code or any rules or regulations pursuant thereto, giving powers to the police and fire departments, but shall be construed together with existing ordinances that are now, or shall be, in effect for the safety and welfare of the citizens of the village.
