Four members of the Board shall constitute a quorum for the transaction of business. In the case of an appeal to the Board involving a specific trade such as electrical, mechanical, plumbing or air-conditioning and refrigeration, at least one member of that specific trade is required to be present before any board action. A simple majority of members present shall be required to vary the application of any provision of the International Code Council construction codes and the National Electrical Code, as adopted by the city. Alternate members will be requested, by city staff, to attend meetings in place of regular members of the Board on an as-needed basis.
