§ 150.003 ELECTRICAL PERMITS AND LICENSES.
   (A)   To whom permits may be issued. As proof of the qualifications of those electrical contractors and electricians engaging in the electrical trade in the city, all work done in the city coming under the Electrical Code shall be done by a person who holds an appropriate valid Electrical Contractor's license and/or a Master Electrician's license duly issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation. No permit shall be issued to any person to do or cause to be done any work regulated by the Code, except to a person holding a valid Master Electrician's License.
   (B)   Who may do the work. Master and Journeyman Electricians licensed by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation and registered with the city.
      (1)   A Master Electrician may contract for and engage in the business of installing, repairing or replacing electrical wiring or equipment of any nature on or in buildings or structures. The Master Electrician may employ and supervise Journeyman Electricians, helpers and apprentice electricians.
      (2)   A Journeyman Electrician shall be able to perform any type of electrical work under the supervision of a Master Electrician, but in no case shall a Journeyman Electrician contract for or engage in the business of electrical work of any nature. A Journeyman Electrician shall be able to lay out work for and to supervise helper or apprentice electricians, but shall not be able to employ same.
   (C)   Registration. Every person desiring to be registered by the city to engage in the electrical business in a capacity for which a license is required by the Code shall comply with the following: be the holder of a valid State of Texas Electrical Contractor's license and Master Electrician's license issued by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.
   (D)   Registration fees. Fees for registration shall be in accordance with the electrical permits and fees schedule set forth in the development services permit fee schedule.
   (E)   Registration renewal. Electrical contractor registration shall expire and be subject to renewal on the date of state license expiration.
