§ 96.01 DEFINITIONS.
   For the purpose of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
   AQUATIC FACILITY. Any structure or area within a park designated by the Director or designee for aquatic activities, including, but not limited to, splash pads, swimming pools, wading pools, lap lanes, or family aquatic centers.
   BICYCLE.  A device that a person may ride and that is propelled by human power and has two tandem wheels at least one of which is more than 14 inches in diameter. The term does not include bicycles in the service of the city.
   CITY. The City of Mansfield, Texas.
   CITY COUNCIL. The City Council of Mansfield, Texas.
   DANGEROUS ANIMAL. Has the meaning given that term in the Animal Control chapter of the City of Mansfield Code of Ordinances.
   DEPARTMENT. The city Department of Parks and Recreation.
   DIRECTOR. The Director of the Department of Parks and Recreation or his or her authorized representative.
   FACILITIES.  To include playgrounds, recreation centers, athletic fields, pavilions, amphitheaters, rest rooms, concession stands, press boxes and any other building or structure located on a park.
   OFF-LEASH AREA. An enclosed area designated by the Director in which certain dogs are allowed to run at large without being secured by a leash or other restraint.
   PARK. Those areas of land that may from time to time be purchased, leased or otherwise placed under the control of the city and used by the Parks and Recreation Department for athletic, recreational or open-spaced purposes, either singly or in cooperation with the Mansfield Park Facilities Development Corporation or any other agency, corporation or individual. To include all land which may be selected, ordained or acquired by the city for use as parks, recreation facilities, parkways, esplanades, median strips or grounds.
   PARK BOARD. The Parks and Recreation Board established pursuant to § 96.37 of this chapter.
   PARKING AREA. Any designated portion of any park or any park road or drive that is set aside for the parking of vehicles.
   PEDESTRIAN. Any person on foot or any person in a mechanically-propelled wheelchair or other low-powered, mechanically-powered vehicle designed specifically for use by a physically-disabled person.
   PERMIT. Written permission from the Park Board or Director to carry out a given activity in a park.
   PERSON. Any person, firm, partnership, association, corporation, company, organization, or other legal entity.
   VEHICLE. Includes any wheeled device of conveyance, propelled by motor or engine, including but not limited to cars, trucks, motorcycles, mini-bikes, golf carts, all-terrain vehicles, trailers, tractors, trains, and segways. The term does not include vehicles in the service of the city or motorized wheelchairs and scooters utilized for assisting disabled persons.
   VESSEL. Includes any device of human conveyance on the water, whether propelled by motor, wind, or human power. The term includes, but is not limited to, any boat, yacht, cruiser, canoe, kayak, raft, paddleboat or other water craft.
