Whenever any street designated as a truck route, commercial delivery route or hazardous material truck route is being repaired or is otherwise temporarily out of use, the Chief of Police is hereby authorized to designate alternate truck routes, commercial delivery routes or hazardous materials truck routes for such period as may be necessary.
