For the purpose of this subchapter, the following definitions shall apply unless the context clearly indicates or requires a different meaning.
CITY VEHICLE. A vehicle or mobile equipment either leased or owned by the city.
COVERAGE. The extent to which the city will defend and indemnify a plan member under the plan.
LOSS. An amount which a plan member is legally obligated to pay resulting from an act or omission which has coverage under the plan.
PLAN. The officer and employee liability plan as established in this subchapter.
PLAN MEMBER. A person who is as follows.
(1) An employee of the city.
(2) A member of the City Council.
(3) A member of a city board, commission or committee created by Charter, ordinance or resolution of the city.
(4) A member of the Board of Directors of a nonprofit corporation created under the authority of the City Council as an instrumentality of the city.
(5) A volunteer who is as follows.
(a) A member of the city's Volunteer Police Reserve.
(b) A member of the city's Volunteer Fire Department.
(c) Assisting the city pursuant to an official policy adopted or approved by the City Council.
