9-1-7: PROCLAMATION EFFECTIVE PERIOD:
The proclamation authorized in this chapter shall be effective for a period of forty eight (48) hours, or as required by law, unless sooner terminated by a proclamation of the president/mayor indicating that the civil emergency no longer exists. The president/mayor may reproclaim the existence of a civil emergency at the end of each forty eight (48) hour period during the time the civil emergency exists. The declaration of emergency shall not be continued or renewed for a period in excess of seven (7) days except by or with the consent of the village board. (Ord. 934, 1-2-2007)
