8-1-4: DRIVEWAYS ACROSS SIDEWALKS:
It shall be unlawful to construct any driveway across any public sidewalk in the village without having first obtained a permit therefor. Applications for such permits shall be made in writing to the clerk and shall state thereon the location of the proposed driveway and the purpose thereof.
All such driveways shall be constructed under the supervision of the superintendent of public works, and he shall see to the enforcement of this section.
No such driveway shall be constructed of any material other than cement; the grade shall be as close to that of the adjacent sidewalk as is practicable, and the driveway shall be so constructed that it will not interfere with the pedestrians on the walk in any way. (1928 Code §99; amd. 1990 Code)
