1-20-2: DEFINITIONS:
For purposes of this chapter, the following definitions shall apply:
   HEARING OFFICER: A village employee or an officer or agent of the village, other than a law enforcement officer, whose duty it is to:
   A.   Hear testimony and accept evidence that is relevant to the existence of the ordinance violation;
   B.   Issue subpoenas directing witnesses to appear and give relevant testimony at the ordinance administrative hearing, upon the request of the parties or their representatives;
   C.   Preserve and authenticate the record of the ordinance administrative hearing and all exhibits and evidence introduced at the ordinance administrative hearing;
   D.   Issue a determination of whether an ordinance violation exists; and
   E.   Impose penalties consistent with applicable code provisions and assessing costs upon finding a party liable for the charged violation. 65 Illinois Compiled Statutes 5/1-2.1-4.
   NONEMERGENCY SITUATION: Any situation that does not reasonably constitute a threat to the public interest, safety, or welfare. (Ord. 1180, 7-15-2014)
