The superintendent of public works shall be the custodian of all village property, other than money or records, which is not given to any other officer for custody by ordinance. The clerk shall be custodian of all records which are not assigned to any other officer for care. All money collected by any officer for and on behalf of the village shall be turned over to the treasurer. Each officer so receiving any money shall turn it over to the treasurer at least once each month, and shall make a written report to the board of trustees at the next regular meeting that this has been done, showing how much money was received and turned over, and the purpose for which it was received.
