3-13-1: BUILDING PERMIT PLAN REVIEW AND INSPECTION FEES:
   A.   Single-Family: Building permit fees for the construction, erection of or addition to a residential use, building or structure shall be determined by multiplying the fee amount listed below by the total square feet of the building or structure, using exterior dimensions.
   Building permit/inspections: $0.272 with a minimum of one thousand two hundred dollars ($1,200.00).
   Plan review: $0.198 with a minimum of six hundred thirty five dollars ($635.00).
   B.   Commercial, Industrial, Multi-Family: The building permit fee for the construction, erection of or addition to a commercial, multi-family, or industrial building or structure shall be determined by multiplying the total square feet by:
Five cents ($0.05) per square foot with a minimum fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00); plus
Cost of third party consultant plan review and inspection.
   C.   Remodel, Addition, And Accessory Structures: The building permit fee for all other alterations to property or structures, including, but not limited to, accessory structures over two hundred (200) square feet in area, interior remodeling, addition to primary structure, or construction of an accessory structure shall be determined by multiplying the total square feet of the improvement area by forty seven cents ($0.47) with a minimum fee of five hundred dollars ($500.00).
Building permit/inspections: $0.272 with a minimum of three hundred dollars ($300.00).
Plan review: $0.198 with a minimum of two hundred dollars ($200.00).
   D.   Miscellaneous Improvements: The building permit fee for all other alterations to property or structures, including, but not limited to, accessory structures under two hundred (200) square feet in area, decks, gazebos, porches, soffit systems, dormers, fences, re-roofs and siding, the fee shall be based upon the following table:

This section is not intended to conflict with the professional fee payment procedures as outlined in section 1-9-3 of this code.
   E.   Reinspection Fees: Reinspection fees shall be sixty dollars ($60.00) per reinspection for subsections A, B, and C of this section and forty dollars ($40.00) per reinspection for subsection D of this section.
   F.   Payment Of Permit Fees: All building permit, inspection, and plan review fees shall be paid at time of application of permit and are nonrefundable. In the event a permit application is denied, the inspection portion of the permit fee shall be refunded. All other fees, including reinspection fees shall be paid prior to the issuance of a certificate of occupancy.
   G.   Penalties: Any person who is in violation of this section shall be subject to a penalty equal to the permit fee for the improvement(s) in addition to the normal permit fee of the improvement(s). (Ord. 1168, 12-17-2013; amd. Ord. 1320-20, 2-4-2020)
