1-5-1: VILLAGE PRESIDENT:
   A.   Election And Term Of Office: The President of the Board of Trustees shall be elected for a term of four (4) years as provided by statute. (1928 Code §1; amd. 1990 Code)
   B.   Bond, Oath, Salary: Before entering upon the duties of his office, the President shall give a bond with sureties to be approved by the Board of Trustees conditioned upon the faithful performance of his duties, in the sum of three thousand dollars ($3,000.00). He shall take the oath of office prescribed by statute, and shall receive such compensation as may be set from time to time by the Board of Trustees. (1928 Code §4)
   C.   Duties: The President of the Board of Trustees shall be the Chief Executive Officer of the Village, and shall perform all such duties as may be required of him by statute or ordinance of the Village. He shall have supervision over all of the executive officers of the Village, and shall have the power and authority to inspect all books and records kept by any officer of the Village at any reasonable time. (1928 Code §2)
   D.   Appointment Of Officers, Designation, Duties: The President shall appoint by and with the advice and consent of the Board of Trustees all officers of the Village whose appointment or election is not otherwise provided for. Any vacancies occurring in appointive offices shall be filled in the same manner.
Whenever there is a dispute as to the respective duties or powers of any appointive officer of the Village, this dispute shall be settled by the President after consultation with the Village Attorney; and the President shall have the power to delegate to any such officer any duty which is to be performed when no specific officer has been directed to perform that duty.
