10-2-7: RECLAIMED VEHICLES; DISPOSAL OF UNCLAIMED VEHICLES:
   A.   Disposal of unclaimed vehicles shall be as set forth in the motor vehicle code of the state, as amended.
   B.   Any time before a vehicle is sold or disposed of as provided in this section, the owner of the vehicle may reclaim the vehicle by presenting to the police department and the commercial towing service having custody of the vehicle, proof of ownership or proof of right to possession of the vehicle. No vehicle shall be released until all fees and expenses of towing, storage, impounding and enforcement have been paid, and shall be in addition to the fine provided for in this chapter for the violation of this chapter, unless prohibited by law which requires the release of the vehicle without paying such charges. Said fees and expenses may be collected by the village in an action at law. (Ord. 868, 8-2-2005)
