(A) The Building Department and its duties and responsibilities are hereby transferred to the Planning and Community Development Department and shall be known as the Building Regulations Division.
(B) The department head shall be the Director of Planning and Community Development who shall be appointed as provided by Charter § 3.03. The Director of Planning and Community Development shall also be the Inspector of Buildings of the city.
(C) The Planning and Community Development Department is responsible for the administration, interpretation and enforcement of all codes and regulations pertaining to the Office of Inspectors of Buildings and the administration, interpretation and enforcement of land use codes and regulations.
(D) (1) The Planning and Community Development Department shall provide staff support to the Zoning Board of Adjustment and shall administer the processing of variances, special exceptions and administrative appeals under the direction of the Zoning Board of Adjustment.
(2) The Planning and Community Development Department shall also perform such other duties as are prescribed by federal, state and local law.
