(A) Water charges must be paid monthly at the City Clerk’s office by 3:00 pm on the twentieth day of the month. If the twentieth of the month falls on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday the payment will be due by 8:00 am on the Monday after the twentieth. If payment is not paid by the due date and time, a 10% penalty fee will be added to all past due charges.
(B) When the customer’s account is owing three months, the city will send the water account’s property owner a water termination notice by certified mail at least ten days before the proposed water shut off date.
(1) The notice shall state the amount due that must be paid in full by 8:00 am on the twentieth of the month or payment arrangements made with the City Clerk-Treasurer.
(2) If the amount owed is not paid in full or payment arrangements made with the City Clerk by 8:00 am on the date of water service termination, an additional $75 penalty fee will be assessed. The total amount owed and the additional $75 fee must be paid in full before water service is restored. If the twentieth of the month falls on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday, the payment will be due by 8:00 am on the Monday after the twentieth of the month. In no case will the city terminate water service on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday.
