§ 160.022 PURPOSE.
   (A)   The purpose of this chapter is to establish minimum residential construction requirements to safeguard the public safety, health and general welfare through affordability, structural strength, means of egress facilities, stability, sanitation, light and ventilation, and safety to life and property from fire and other hazards attributed to the built environment and to provide safety to fire fighters and emergency responders during emergency operations.
   (B)   Acknowledgment. Portions of this chapter sections and subsections were directly adopted from sections in the 2015 International Residential Model Code.
