§ 92.30 REDEMPTION.
   (A)   Except as otherwise provided herein, the owner of any impounded animal may redeem the animal by paying an impoundment fee of $35, plus an additional board fee of $10 per day for each day or any part thereof during which the animal has been held in the pound or animal control facility, and by paying to the animal control facility any state mandated costs, or other necessary charges incurred in maintaining the animal. When the fees are paid and the owner has given the pound or animal control facility satisfactory proof of ownership of the animal, the pound or animal control facility shall release the animal to the owner thereof.
   (B)   For the purposes of this section, a DAY shall be considered a calendar day 24 hours beginning at midnight and continuing until the next midnight or any part thereof.
   (C)   If any impounded animal does not have a current rabies tag, the owner redeeming the animal shall, in addition to any of the above fees, pay the necessary charges for rabies inoculation, micro-chipping and registration for the current year, as required by law.
   (D)   Any impounded animal found to be vicious shall not be subject to redemption, but shall be turned over by the village to an appropriate agent or agency for humane destruction. Any animal impounded in relation to a dangerous animal, vicious animal or cruelty to animal charge until the court hearing that charge either dismisses that charge or it expressly authorizes the redemption as part of any other order entered in that case.
