This chapter shall be and constitute the “Parking Code Ordinance of the Village”, which is adopted pursuant to state statutes authorizing the empowered municipalities to adopt all or any portion of the Illinois Vehicle Code by reference (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 20-204); enact regulations with respect to streets and highways under their jurisdiction and within the reasonable exercise of the police power (ILCS Ch. 625, Act 5, § 11-208); and enact regulations with respect to the use of the streets and other municipal property (ILCS Ch. 65, Act 5, § 11-80-2). This chapter shall be in effect for that purpose on and after its effective date as provided herein. This chapter may be known and cited as the “Village Parking Code”.
