§ 31.02 VILLAGE CLERK.
   (A)   Pursuant to provisions of § 3-5-9, Chapter 24, Ill. Rev. Stat. (1987) the Village Clerk shall be appointed by the Village President with the concurrence of the Village Board.
   (B)   The Village Clerk shall serve a one-year term, or until his or her successor is appointed and qualified, as provided by statute.
   (C)   The Village Clerk shall have duties as the Board of Trustees shall from time to time provide in accordance with applicable statutes, and the following duties:
      (1)   Keep accounts showing all monies received by him or her and the source and disposition thereof and other accounts as may be required by statute or ordinance, and further he or she shall turn over the monies received by him or her on behalf of the village to the Village Treasurer promptly upon receipt of same and, with monies, he or she shall give a statement as to the source thereof;
      (2)   Keep a register of all licenses and permits issued and payments thereon; a record showing all of the officers and regular employees of the village; and other records as may be required by the Board of Trustees;
      (3)   Seal and attest all village contracts, licenses, permits and other documents as shall require this formality;
      (4)   File the minutes and records of the Board of Trustees and its committees and subcommittees proceedings; and
      (5)   Other duties and functions as may be required by statute or ordinance.
   (D)   The salary for the Village Clerk shall be fixed by the Village Board of Trustees as per the annual appropriations ordinance.
