(A) Council shall by ordinance fix the compensation of every elected city officer not later than the first Monday in May in the year in which the officer is elected. An elected officer’s compensation shall not be changed after his or her election or during his or her term of office.

(B) (1) Effective January 1, 2023, the annual compensation of the Mayor is and shall be fixed at seventy-five thousand dollars ($75,000.00).
(2) Effective January 1, 2023, the annual compensation of a City Council member is and shall be fixed at fifteen thousand dollars ($15,000.00).
(3) The amounts stated above shall be subject to adjustment as provided in KRS 83A.070 et seq. and as provided in § 30.34 of the Code of Ordinances.
