§ 91.41 INSPECTION AND APPROVAL OF WORK.
   (A)   All construction work in any street or other public way which involves the construction or reconstruction of paving, sidewalks, driveways, curbs, gutters, sewers, and waterlines, after the same shall have been opened or excavated, shall be inspected and approved by the City Engineer after a permit for the doing of such work has been issued by the City Engineer pursuant to this subchapter. The depth, location, grade alignment and proper pointing of all sewer pipelines and private waterlines shall be approved by the City Engineer before the ditch is backfilled and before any pipe is covered by the contractor or by the person doing the work. The location and depth measurement of all house service line sewers shall be made by the City Engineer before the pipe is covered by the contractor. If a permit is granted for lateral sewer construction, the sewer shall be built if the City Engineer so desires, according to lines and grades furnished by the City Engineer. On all pavement, sidewalk, driveway, curb, and gutter construction or reconstruction work, the grade, finished work, and curing shall be thoroughly checked and approved by the City Engineer, who shall require all of such construction work to be done in conformity with the standard construction design specified by him.
   (B)   Notice for all measuring work to be done by the engineering department and all inspection work to be done by the public works department shall be given by the contractor or person doing the work to each department during regular city working hours at least four hours in advance of measurement or inspection. No inspection or measurements will be made by either department outside of regular city working hours.
