§ 72.23 TOWING AND CUSTODIAN CARE CHARGES.
   (A)   A towing charge of twenty dollars ($20.00) for each hour or fraction of an hour required for towing shall be made by the Police Department for each motor vehicle. This charge shall be paid by the owner of the vehicle before it is released. Where it is necessary to use more than one wrecker or other additional equipment in moving or recovering a vehicle, an additional charge of eighteen dollars ($18.00) per hour or fraction of an hour shall be assessed for each additional wrecker or additional equipment used. However, if the additional wrecker or equipment is furnished by contract wrecker or other private person the charge made shall be the actual cost of the equipment to the city but not less than twenty dollars ($20.00) per hour or fraction thereof.
   (B)   The city tow lots shall charge an amount agreed to by the legislative body for storage and handling. It shall be the duty of the custodian of the city tow lots on presentation of a proper release to collect all towing charges and storage charges from the owner of the vehicle, and the custodian shall account for and remit all charges so collected to the city at least every seventy-two (72) hours.
