§ 36.11 CHIEF OF POLICE TO ATTEND FIRES.
   It is made the duty of the Chief of Police and policemen, on duty at the time, to respond promptly to all fire alarms and attend each fire, when they can consistently do so, and to assist the Chief of Fire Department in protecting life and property in and around such fires, and in controlling and regulating the traffic and maintaining order.
