(A) The Police Department has been in existence since at least the year 1918, and has been the official law enforcement agency of the city since that date.
(B) The city hereby designates the "Madisonville Police Department" as the name of its police department, and it shall as designated as the law enforcement service for the citizens of Madisonville and all other citizens to which jurisdiction is conferred pursuant to the Kentucky Revised Statutes.
