It shall be the duty of the Chief of Police to inspect and examine at least once every 60 days, each mechanical musical device or automatic amusement game, licensed hereunder, with the view of ascertaining whether the laws of the state and the ordinances of the city and the provisions of this subchapter are complied with in respect to the operation and keeping of the devices and to see that the same is not being used for illegal purposes.
