(A) Every building or its premises used in whole or in part as a home or residence or as an accessory structure thereof, of a single family or person and every building used in whole or in part as a home or residence of two or more persons or families, living in separate apartments, shall conform to the requirements of this code, irrespective of the class to which the building may otherwise belong, and irrespective of when the building may have been constructed, altered or repaired.
(B) Any alterations to buildings, or changes of use therein which may be caused directly or indirectly by the enforcement of this code shall be done in accordance with applicable sections of the building code of this municipality.
