§ 110.10  NOTICE.
If a license extends for a period of time beyond two months, it shall be the duty of the City Collector from 10 to 20 days prior to the termination of the license period to cause a written notice to be mailed to each licensee, directing the attention of the licensee to the fact that a new license will be required on the day following the expiration of his or her existing license and directing his or her attention also to the amount of the license fee and to the penalty for failure to procure a license in accordance with the provisions of the ordinance governing the issuance of the license.  Failure on the part of the City Collector to cause the notice to be mailed to each licensee shall not be deemed a defense to a suit brought by the city to recover the penalty for a violation of the ordinance under which the license is required to be secured.
