§ 35.10  DUTY OF POLICEMEN; NOT TO ENGAGE IN BUSINESS THAT MAY INTERFERE, NOR ABSENT THEMSELVES WITHOUT PERMISSION.
   The Chief, Assistant Chief and all police officers shall devote their full time and attention to the discharge of the duties of their respective stations, according to the laws and ordinances of the city and the provisions of police regulations as may be established; and it shall be their duty, to the best of their ability to preserve order, peace and quiet, and enforce all laws and ordinances throughout the city.  They shall not engage in any business or occupation, or endeavor, other than as a police officer for the city, unless by special assignment by the Mayor of Chief to any other law enforcement agency, and they shall not be absent themselves from the city, nor from their duties unless by permission of the Chief or the Board of Fire and Police Commissioners.
