Aeration treatment systems, approved by the state, must also be approved by the County Planning and Development Department. Before any new system may be placed on a list of approved county aeration systems, it must first obtain an experimental permit in which a limited number of systems are allowed to be installed. The systems are monitored by the County Planning and Development Department for a number of months for performance. Upon satisfactory compliance with these regulations, the system will be placed on the approved list.
