(A) The Merit Commission shall establish job descriptions and minimum standards for each rank of classification and appointment and promotional examinations will include assessment of the applicant’s suitability based thereon.
(B) Personnel appointed to positions of Chief Deputy Sheriff, Under Sheriff, County Administrator, Director of Operations or Administrative Assistant by the Sheriff are exempt from the jurisdiction of the Merit Commission and may be assigned a temporary rank by the Sheriff for the term of their appointment. Personnel appointed as Chief Deputy, Under Sheriff, County Administrator, Director of Operations or Administrative Assistant are vested with all authority granted to Deputy Sheriffs but may be removed from the position with or without cause by the Sheriff and are without recourse to such removal under this subchapter.
